A Prayer Update from the Minells in NYC
Central Park to Central Harlem
Are we portable enough to be trans-planted?
As many of you may know, one of the main things God used to confirm our call to NYC was our NYC home. For the past 3 1/2 years, this home has been such a blessing and place of refuge in a challenging city…for us well as many visitors. It has been a place of provision in a location where the median rent has increased 75% in 12 years. We are so grateful to the Lord and our friends who own the home!!
We’ve been so blessed to toil, journey, labor, and pray with these beautiful friends while the home was under renovation from a flood way back in Feb 16, 2015 (the coldest Feb day in NYC in 127 years causing disaster to most of the big historic brownstone).
The repairs took it down to brick, mortar, & studs. It came to the crossroads when work would cease unless we could move… in one week! We all prayed and trusting God, set out on our scooters to scour the city for homes that would work. God kept the wind from frostbiting our extremities, but it felt like snowmobiling back home in MN…only in Manhattan :-).
God gave us a phrase that we kept saying when it got stressful . . .
“Who gets to do this? We do!”
It reminded us to keep our eyes and God . . . feeling blessed God chose us to experience this :0).
And then there it was! Our new home in Harlem!
As we look back just a few weeks ago, we are still not sure how we did it!
Actually we do…it was God! His protection and provision were so apparent! It was a way of reminding us that God has called us to something very special.
